City of Mishawaka, KeyBank Foundation, Vera Z. Dwyer Charitable Trust and The Roger I. and Ruth B. MacFarlane Foundation Support Habitat for Humanity's 35th Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project as Platinum Sponsors

ATLANTA, Aug. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Forty-one families will experience the life-changing effects of building and owning a decent, affordable home, thanks in part to the City of Mishawaka, the KeyBank Foundation, the Vera Z. Dwyer Charitable Trust and the Roger I. and Ruth B. MacFarlane Foundation. The four groups have committed crucial resources to Habitat for Humanity's 35th Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project and have been named Platinum Sponsors.

With the backing of the Platinum Sponsors and 30 other generous sponsors, hundreds of volunteers – including former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn – will work alongside future homeowners to build 22 new homes Aug. 27-30 in Mishawaka, Indiana. Altogether, 41 homes will be built or renovated by the end of the year.

Vera Dwyer and her husband, James, were owners of Dwyer Instruments. The company, founded by James and his brother in 1931, is still active and headquartered in Michigan City, about 40 miles west of Mishawaka. Vera had a strong belief in education and in the health sciences.
