City of Orange Township Invites Chariot Companies to Serve as Community Redevelopment Partner on Highland Avenue Train Station
ORANGE, N.J., Nov. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Philadelphia-based Chariot Companies, a diversified Community Development Entity, today announced plans to serve as advisor to the City of Orange Township Mayor Dwayne D. Warren, Esq., and his Committee for the Highland Avenue Train Station Community Redevelopment Plan.
"This appointment is proof that our vision promoting innovative economic development and experience revitalizing communities that serve all citizens and give voice to community issues is how smart growth is happening in the 21st century," John Henry, Chariot Companies CEO, said. "This is a tremendous partnership around a major piece of the city's transportation infrastructure that will transform the neighborhood and bring more jobs to Orange."
The committee is charged with submitting a written report to Mayor Warren in January 2014. "Identifying development ideas that will support community growth and business enhancement around the Highland Avenue Station is a fundamental part of growing and moving Orange forward," said Mayor Warren.
Orange is a compact urban center, and with the city's adoption of a comprehensive master plan for growth and development Chariot will work with other members of the committee to demonstrate how community projects can benefit the Highland Avenue Station area.
"Improved train service has been the key to revitalization in other communities, and we will use this opportunity to promote collaborative community development that ensure education and city families have a bright future, and demonstrate that Orange really is the new green," Henry said.
