CIVCO Focuses on Robotic Innovation and Motion Management at ASTRO 2011

Protura Robotic Patient Positioning System

CIVCO's Protura Robotic Patient Positioning System positions patients in 6 degrees of freedom with sub-millimeter accuracy. Knowing the demands of the clinic and the importance of patient safety, precision and accuracy were fundamental to the design of Protura. CIVCO's robotic system integrates with existing IGRT solutions and linear accelerators. There are currently 14 Proturas installed in four countries, with several more pending installations. CIVCO's New Horizon Prone Breastboard assists in providing comfortable, reproducible patient positioning for prone breast treatments.  The modular design and a variety of accessories allow clinicians to customize patient setups, including overall height adjustments. The indexable New Horizon features a height adjustable, indexable prone face cushion as well as indexable hand placement, including asymmetrical options for patient comfort.  The treatment opening is past midline for medial field edge visualization, and a variety of wedges are available for the contralateral breast to assist in proper patient positioning.
