DENVER, Jan. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CiviCore, LLC announced that it has converted from an LLC to a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC). CiviCore is a mission driven organization focused on building capacity within the social sector by developing innovative technology solutions for its public and nonprofit sector clients.
Combining traditional for-profit business goals designed to maximize shareholder value with a mission to make a positive change can be challenging. Public Benefit Corporations are a specific type of corporation that allow for organizations to consider the impact of their decisions, not only on their shareholders, but also on their stakeholders and the community at large. The PBC organizational structure has been adopted by 30 states. In fact, over 1,500 progressive corporations have registered as Public Benefit Corporations nationwide.
