CK Mondavi Unveils Bold New Label Designed by Alycia Mondavi
Labels offer nutritional transparency and a fresh look rooted in family legacy
NAPA, Calif., June 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- CK Mondavi, the iconic family-owned winery based in St. Helena, California, announces the release of a new label design created by fourth-generation family leader Alycia Mondavi. Launching nationally in August 2025, the refreshed label responds to evolving consumer demand for nutritional information and shares the story of the Mondavi family.
"We believe it's important to show key nutritional facts to provide clarity and transparency for today's shoppers," explains Alycia Mondavi. She added, "In the $7-8 retail category, these wines will be the first to share nutritional information on both on both front and back labels."
"Wine has always carried a bit of mystique, and while that's part of its magic, nutrition shouldn't be a mystery," said Alycia Mondavi. "Our family has a history of diabetes; I was recently diagnosed with a gluten allergy. Many wine barrels use a gluten-based product to seal barrels. While it adds trace amounts, individuals with gluten sensitivity could be impacted. I know firsthand how frustrating it can be to lack the information you need when shopping. This redesign reflects our commitment to honesty and accessibility," she adds.
The new label features a black-and-white photo collage sourced from Alycia's family albums, visually honoring the winery's rich heritage and core values of preservation, tradition, community, and sustainability. Known for her involvement with Dark Matter and Aloft, in the Mondavi Sisters collection, Alycia brought her design sensibility and consumer insights to this project.
The updated CK Mondavi portfolio features ten varietals that are available nationally at retail for approximately $7.99 for the 750ml and $14.99 for the 1.5L size. Each wine proudly shares its 100% California Grown origin. Since its founding in 1946, CK Mondavi has always used California Grown grapes by farming its own vineyards and working with other family growers.
While the label has evolved, the wines remain true to their roots. Winemaker Randy Herron continues to oversee production using traditional winemaking techniques. Remarkably, the nutritional panel featured today would have been just as accurate in 1946—proof that quality and integrity never go out of style.
