CKO Kickboxing Opens Gym in Richmond, Va. This Saturday, June 13, 2015
RICHMOND, Va., June 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CKO Kickboxing, one of the fastest growing health fitness franchises, will celebrate the Grand Opening of its newest fitness kickboxing gym at 9051-1 West Broad Street, Henrico, on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The high quality, cross training gym provides a family friendly setting to Richmond residents who are looking for an alternative to Pilates, yoga, martial arts and spinning classes.

"It's a very welcoming and a non-intimidating atmosphere. It's a happy place to be," said Hamid Mahmood, who is co-owner of the CKO Kickboxing gym along with his wife, Maritza Mahmood.
The 6,500 square-foot gym features 81 heavy bags and is open seven days a week. CKO Kickboxing Richmond posts its kickboxing classes online. Classes begin as early at 5:30 a.m. and as late as 7:30 p.m. People can get their workouts in before or after work. There are designated personal training areas and a kids play area that are coming soon.
CKO Kickboxing Richmond is located across the street from TJ Maxx and Chick-Fil-A.
Grand opening activities include a 90-minute kickboxing challenge class from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies will begin after the class and will include music, food and prizes.
Potential members can try one kickboxing class for free. There are discounts on membership during the grand opening period.
"We both grew up in New Jersey and went to a CKO in Freehold. We fell in love with the workout and we had to bring it to Richmond. We wanted to start kickboxing classes in Richmond," said Mahmood, who along with his wife are both Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.
"We wanted to focus our efforts towards promoting health," he said.
CKO Kickboxing is an effective exercise and weight loss program for men and women, old and young. A one-hour workout can burn up to 1,200 calories.
