Claim Filing Deadline approaching in Pella "ProLine" Series Window Settlement: CLAIM FORMS DUE TOMORROW: JULY 23, 2013

CHICAGO, July 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Complex Litigation Group LLC and Seeger Weiss LLP remind class members that settlement forms are due TOMORROW - July 23, 2013 - in the class action settlement involving Pella ProLine brand casement, awning and/or transom windows (including 250 and 450 Series windows sold through Lowe's) (Case No. 06-cv-4481).  The agreement covers a nationwide class of consumers who purchased Pella's ProLine series windows between 1991 and 2006.  It is believed that Pella shipped an estimated 6 million ProLine windows during that span.

Class members are eligible to receive between $750 in cash per structure (through a claims process) and $6,000 per structure (through an expedited arbitration process, where Pella can make defenses).  Other class members will be entitled to receive certain discounts or coupons.  The settlement also provides remedy for owners who will require future repairs or replacements of their windows.

To receive any benefits for eligible damage that existed or exists prior to July 23, 2013 you must file a Claim Form or an Arbitration Form, postmarked by tomorrow July 23, 2013.  All information, instructions, and appropriate forms for eligible class members who wish to file a claim may be found at www.windowsettlement.com.

The current settlement covers only Pella's ProLine Casement windows.  However, our investigation and lawsuits continue against Pella's "Designer" and "Architect" series windows.

The Designer and Architect series windows contain an alleged design flaw similar to the ProLine series in that the aluminum cladding allows water to seep under it, and rot out the wood underneath.  Sometimes the excessive moisture is so bad that water leaks into the home and causes property damage.
