SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Clarify Health Solutions, Inc., a pioneer in predictive care optimization, announced today that Mark Froimson, MD, president of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and principal of Riverside Health Advisors, has joined the company as a strategic advisor and consulting chief clinical officer. With broad experience as a physician executive, orthopedic surgeon, and alternative payment pioneer, Dr. Froimson will play a critical role in accelerating the adoption of Clarify's first-of-its kind analytics and care optimization platform.
Dr. Froimson, who joins a prestigious cohort of strategic advisors to the San Francisco-based startup, served as chief clinical officer and executive vice president of Trinity Health, the Michigan-based hospital system, from November 2014 through May 2017. During his tenure there, he led the development and expansion of Trinity's episode of care and bundled payment initiatives and ultimately positioned them as a model of industry best practice. Prior to that, he spent 16 years with the Cleveland Clinic, serving in a variety of leadership roles, including vice chairman of orthopedics and president and chief executive officer of Euclid Hospital, where he launched the Clinic's bundled payment program.
"I'm delighted to join Clarify Health's broader team as it empowers providers to achieve the Quadruple Aim of a better patient experience, improved health outcomes, lower costs and physician satisfaction," said Froimson. "Having evaluated countless solutions on the market, I'm incredibly impressed with Clarify Health's breakthrough combination of predictive analytics, actionable clinical insights and step-by-step navigation. This not only assists care teams to make better decisions at critical points, but also links unique sources of information to personalize patients' care journeys, and provides clinicians with powerful tools that they can use to control their destiny in value and risk-based arrangements."
Dr. Froimson's experience as an orthopedic surgeon and national expert on bundle payments will further Clarify's work with hospitals and health systems across the country that engage in risk-based payment models. These include participants in CMS' Bundled Payments for Care Improvement (BPCI) program and the soon-to-be announced BPCI Advanced program, in which many providers have chosen to focus on orthopedic procedures.
"We are deeply honored that Mark has chosen to work with us. On behalf of the entire Clarify Health team, I am delighted to welcome him," said Jean Drouin, MD, CEO and co-founder of Clarify Health. "I am excited about the wisdom, creativity, momentum and impact that he injects across all of our programs. As Clarify Health becomes a vital partner to providers across the country, we are proud to have a colleague with Mark's leadership track record to advise senior leaders and clinicians on how to best optimize care delivery—and truly find the 'value' in value-based care."
