Clayton Homes Facility Earns First Industry Environmental Certification in the U.S.

The ISO 14001 certification is awarded to building facilities that have instituted international measures designed to reduce the cost of waste management and save energy consumption.  The implementation of the ISO standard at the Clayton Rutledge facility will result in reduced waste, lower consumption of energy and the promotion of the recycling of building materials, which endorses environmentally friendly operating procedures.  Clayton Homes is leading the American homebuilding industry by example, putting the well being of its team members and the environment first.  The continued cost savings of these green practices are one of the reasons why Clayton Homes is able to provide homeowners with affordable, smart homes.

The homebuilding facility in Rutledge spent the past seven months implementing numerous international green building practices that resulted in this certification. Through coordinated efforts executed by the entire building team, Clayton Rutledge is the first of the 35 facilities that make up the Clayton Home building group to be certified.  Clayton is striving for all of its facilities across the nation to be ISO 14001 certified by 2016.  Implementing this additional certification will help improve the overall industry home building standard for all manufactured housing facilities in America.
