cleverDome and TD Ameritrade Institutional Team Up to Increase Cybersecurity for RIAs
GILBERT, Ariz., Jan. 29, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- cleverDome Inc.™, a B-Corporation that provides a community-driven solution to protect confidential consumer information by taking that information "Under the Dome"™ (i.e., secure and off the open internet), today announced that registered investment advisors using certain software solutions can sign up to come "Under the Dome" thanks to a new integration with the TD Ameritrade Institutional Veo One® platform.
The cleverDome solution combines end-point protection with a secure communication layer under a common due-diligence standard, the foundation for the future of financial networks. The cleverDome network offers military-grade security for all of an advisory firm's computers and devices. cleverDome can replace traditional VPN solutions and enable RIA firms to benefit from lower costs and higher speeds.
The Dome is available today to advisors who custody assets with TD Ameritrade Institutional and use technology from vendors that are members of the cleverDome community. Currently, cleverDome can secure an advisor's client information being shared among three Veo One-integrated technology solutions: Redtail, Riskalyze and Orion.
cleverDome is in discussions with many more financial technology providers and expects to add more companies over time. As more vendors are added, advisors will be able to "permission" new vendors who join cleverDome.
cleverDome's focus for the past 12 months has been on bringing software service vendors, broker/dealers, registered investment advisers and financial advisors "Under the Dome." Participants in the cleverDome cybersecurity cooperative include firms such as Orion Advisor Services, Redtail, Riskalyze, United Planners, Geneos and FCI.

Cybersecurity not surprisingly is top of mind for advisors. In the latest TD Ameritrade Institutional RIA Sentiment Survey, data security was the top technology spending priority among advisors and expected to be a top issue among regulators in 2019.
