ClimeCo America Corporation Awarded for Outstanding GHG Reduction Regulatory Compliance Guidance

BOYERTOWN, Pa., March 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In recognition of exemplary ability to provide regulatory guidance associated with Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reductions, El Dorado Nitrogen, LP (EDNLP) has presented ClimeCo America Corporation with the prestigious 2011 Principal Supplier Partnership Award.

As a member of the American Chemistry Council, EDNLP supports the initiatives of the Council's Responsible Care program which includes a compliance review of EDNLP principal suppliers.  EDNLP assessed that ClimeCo America Corporation and its employees institute and demonstrate Responsible Care initiatives, and have incorporated environmental protection components into its daily operations and its menu of technical, regulatory, financial and educational services.

ClimeCo America is the Project Developer for the Secondary Abatement System at EDNLP's Baytown, TX plant.  The abatement catalyst was installed in June 2010 under California Action Reserve (CAR) Nitric Acid Production Protocol to reduce Nitrous Oxide (N2O) emissions that would otherwise have been vented to the atmosphere.  

Operational in July 2010, the plant has since issued over 750,000 offset credits, each credit being equivalent to one metric tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2E).
