STAMFORD, Conn., March 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Information Services Group (ISG) (NASDAQ: III), a leading technology insights, market intelligence and advisory services company, today announced the availability of a Cloud Market Tutorial to AccessISG™ Sourcing Portal subscribers. In addition, a Procurement domain has been added to the Service Provider Profile listings available on the site.

The Cloud Sourcing Tutorial provides fundamental information regarding the basics of cloud computing delivery models and their potential benefits.  Authored by ISG subject-matter experts, the tutorial includes information drawn from across the company, including ISG market research and databases of sourcing contracts and provider activity.

"Companies are increasingly seeking to use cloud to capture the cost and operational efficiencies of virtualized IT service delivery," said Paul Reynolds, Chief Research Officer, ISG. "The tutorial provides insights into how to achieve these objectives – and avoid the very real pitfalls that are inherent in the service model – and drive a variety of benefits, including reduced time-to-market, flexibility and business effectiveness."

AccessISG Market Tutorials help sourcing buyers get up to speed on the unique dynamics of sourcing major functional areas. Users move through the six-part tutorials using a "navigational wheel" to learn about common approaches to sourcing various services, the suitability of sourcing various activities, the frequency of sourcing in the market, an evaluation of market services, key performance metrics and the outlook for the market.

In addition to the new Cloud Sourcing Tutorial, Procurement has been added to the Service Provider database as the latest Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) domain, with 18 new profiles. The inclusion of Procurement brings the total numbers within the database to 222 detailed profiles of 92 providers across domains that also include the IT Infrastructure, ADM and HRO markets.

"Procurement services are becoming an increasingly strategic component of sourcing," said Reynolds. "The provider profiles give buyers an at-a-glance resource to easily assess provider capabilities, geographies and industry experience."

Service Provider Profile listings on the AccessISG Sourcing Portal include basic company information, specific details about each provider's capabilities and experience, global presence, contracts and mix of business, and other data points drawn from ISG databases and subject-matter-experts.

An alphabetized directory provides easy access to detailed profiles of the capabilities and experience of providers.  Users can quickly review profiles at a high level as well as learn more about a specific provider.  The Service Provider Search Tool gives users two search options to find the service providers with the domain expertise they need, by either industry or geography.

Launched in April 2013, the AccessISG Sourcing Portal provides sourcing professionals with on-demand market intelligence, research and interactive tools. The portal is the online component of the AccessISG subscription knowledge service, complementing the inquiry-based research and advisory offering with a portfolio of innovative web-based solutions.
