The "Meet the Masters" Art Clinic will Provide Art Lessons in the Styles of the Masters
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today CoachArt and Groupon Grassroots (http://grassroots.groupon.com), the philanthropic arm of Groupon, announce the launch of a local campaign to provide a series of art clinics for chronically ill youth. CoachArt seeks to provide art clinics for up to 20 chronically ill students, covering a series of "master" artist styles, such as Monet, Dali, Georgia O'Keefe and Andy Warhol. Each clinic will cover the work of a different master artist. Students will be guided in creating a piece of their own art in the style of the "Master."
The "Meet the Masters" Art Clinic campaign will be available on the Los Angeles Groupon Grassroots page beginning on February 28, 2013 and running through March 6, 2013. Utilizing Groupon Grassroots' collective action model, Groupon subscribers can pledge support for the Meet the Masters initiative in increments of 10, with each $300 providing one clinic in the series. With $1,800 CoachArt will be able to host a 6-week program with culminating showcase of the children's art. With $3,600 CoachArt will be able to provide a full 12-week mentorship for 20 students.
One hundred percent of the Groupon Grassroots campaign proceeds will be used to provide free lessons in the arts for chronically ill youth.
