WASHINGTON, Sept. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The North American Safe Driving Summit announced today that Tara Galvin Dorsey, J.D., a Washington-based public affairs professional with over a decade of experience working within government, industry associations, and the private sector, has joined the Driving Summit Advisory Board. The Driving Summit will convene May 15-17, 2013, at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Ms. Galvin Dorsey advises domestic and international corporations on policy matters including transportation and telecommunications, both of which are essential to efforts to reduce the use of mobile devices behind the wheel.
"I am committed to the Driving Summit's mission of fostering collaboration," Ms. Galvin Dorsey said. "Resource sharing is essential as government and not-for-profit budgets shrink, yet impaired, distracted, and drowsy driving continues to devastate families and communities."
The Driving Summit aims to expand stakeholder support for policies, programs, and technologies developed to reduce impaired, distracted, and drowsy driving. The summit will highlight the role of the private sector in improving driver safety.
North American Safe Driving Summit spokesperson Donna Kelley said, "Ms. Galvin Dorsey's skill in leading successful coalitions will be especially valuable as we assemble influential organizations and individuals to be Driving Summit sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, and participants."
The Driving Summit has issued a Call for Presenters, available at www.drivingsummit.org. The Driving Summit Advisory Board will aid organizers in determining which presentation proposals should be included in the Driving Summit agenda.
Participants in the North American Safe Driving Summit will include government officials, researchers, not-for-profit leaders, and industry executives, among others. Individuals who register for the Driving Summit before September 30, 2012, will receive a fee reduction.
