Coats Rose Attorneys Serve as Co-Counsel on Bonds Totaling Over $627 Million for Harris County-Houston Sports Authority
HOUSTON, Jan. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Coats Rose public finance attorneys Tim Green, Dwight Jefferson and Mindy Koehne recently served as co-bond counsel on the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority refinancing of a large portion of the debt used to construct various professional sports arenas in Houston.
The plan involved issuing $435,203,444.25 Senior Lien Revenue Refinancing Bonds, Series 2014A; $47,435,000 Taxable Senior Revenue Refunding Bonds, Series 2014B; $75,875,000 Senior Lien Revenue Refunding Bonds, Series 2014C; and $69,170,000 Taxable Revenue Refunding Bonds for NRG Stadium, Series 2014.
Tim Green specializes in public finance, including particularly the creation of special purpose districts throughout Texas. He has been involved in the development of thousands of acres of land for residential and commercial purposes, and the issuance of over $6 billion of tax-exempt bonds for the financing of public infrastructure.
Mindy Koehne is a Director in the firm's Dallas office. Mindy's work is concentrated primarily in the real estate development and public finance areas. Her representation involves the creation and administration of special purpose districts located throughout Texas and the issuance of tax-exempt bonds to fund public infrastructure. The majority of Mindy's practice involves the representation of real estate developers who engage in both commercial and residential development.
Judge Dwight Jefferson is Of Counsel with Coats Rose and a retired State District Judge (215th District Court of Harris County, Texas). He has over 30 years of experience as an attorney, mediator and arbitrator. Judge Jefferson has been a certified mediator since 1997, and an American Arbitration Association approved arbitrator since 2006. The Judge holds an AV Peer Review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO), where he chairs the agency's Finance/Audit Committee.
