Cohen & Grigsby Announces New President & CEO, Christopher Carson
PITTSBURGH, May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Law firm Cohen & Grigsby, P.C. announced today that Christopher Carson, Chair of the Firm's Strategic Talent Management Initiative, has been elected as the firm's next president and CEO, effective January 1, 2016. Jack Elliott has served for more than 13 years as president and CEO and prior to that time, as the executive vice president. Under Mr. Elliott's leadership, the firm has strategically grown into Pittsburgh's fifth largest law firm with more than 130 attorneys representing many of the region's leading public and privately held companies.

Chris Carson has more than 30 years of experience serving as a trusted legal counsel and strategic business advisor to a diverse client base. He has worked with clients that range from publicly traded global Fortune 500 companies to privately held entities. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and strategic joint venture transactions, and Chris has particular expertise with companies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and chemicals, and energy industries. He also is a strong supporter of, and has held leadership positions with, several of the world-renowned cultural and artistic institutions in our community.
Mr. Elliott will begin transitioning his role to Mr. Carson while serving as the General Counsel of Giant Eagle, Inc. He will return his focus to the practice of law and also continue to work with the firm in a strategic and leadership capacity. Giant Eagle, Inc. is a supermarket retailer in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland and one of the largest privately held companies in the United States.
