BRISBANE, Calif., June 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CollabNet® (www.collab.net), a global leader for Enterprise Cloud Development and Agile ALM products and services, today announced Paul Peissner, director of business development, has been named 2012 Vivit Champion of the Year for the Americas region. Vivit is a non-profit organization founded in 1993 (as OpenView Forum) by customers of Hewlett-Packard's Software products to represent the interests of HP Software customers, developers and partners worldwide. Each year Vivit recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence within the user community.
"Paul has been a tremendous contributor to the Vivit community through his years of experience encouraging enterprise adoption of DevOps and the cloud for application development and deployment, along with the creation of self-service education and training programs to assist in industry adoption and global standardization efforts," said Jim Ensell, chief marketing and strategy officer for CollabNet. "Paul leverages his work with Vivit to more clearly understand the growing needs of CollabNet's diverse customer base, and in turn, is a valuable resource to our team in the development of resources our organization can provide to enterprises looking to evolve at a rapid pace through enterprise cloud development."
Peissner has championed both the advancement of IT professionals (helping them take advantage of the quickly changing IT industry) and gathered a variety of industry experts and leaders to work within the Vivit global community. He established and grew member participation and recruited leaders for local chapters and global special interest groups as Vivit scaled beyond the boundaries of the United States. One of the key areas Peissner has shaped is the growth of Vivit through the establishment of strategic partnerships.
"Paul has regular conversations with our Vivit team members on how to improve member services, become more visible to IT professionals, and bring more members to the Vivit community," said Jason Kennedy, president of Vivit. "His strategy to combine the efforts of HP Software Applications and Operations teams to help optimize IT organizations and advance the careers of Vivit's IT professionals has resulted in the launch of the Vivit DevOps Special Interest Group, which he leads."
Peissner also is a Northern California Leader for the Silicon Valley and San Jose Chapter, connecting users and thought leaders in the region. Additionally, he has served as an advisor to the Vivit Board of Directors and offers his insights and expertise to the wider community, speaking at local chapter meetings in the U.S. and Europe and co-presenting on live web events.
