Commonwealth Electrical Technologies Acquires Horton Electrical Services, Expanding Northeast Footprint and Specialized Infrastructure Capabilities

WORCESTER, Mass., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Commonwealth Electrical Technologies ("CET"), a leading electrical and energy infrastructure services company, today announced the acquisition of Horton Electrical Services ("Horton"), a third-generation electrical and civil services contractor based in Connecticut. The transaction significantly expands CET's presence across the Northeast while adding specialized expertise in wastewater infrastructure, solar energy, and civil construction.

Founded in 1976 by Arthur Horton, Horton has built a reputation for high-quality electrical and infrastructure work throughout Connecticut and the broader Northeast. Warren A. Horton joined the third-generation business as an apprentice in 1994 and later became its owner and Managing Member, helping expand the company while developing expertise in the highly specialized wastewater-treatment sector.

Today, Horton provides electrical construction for wastewater treatment facilities and pump stations, solar installation, operations and maintenance (O&M), generator services, civil site work, and around-the-clock emergency response. The company employs more than 100 field staff and 20 managers.

With the addition of Horton, CET's workforce has nearly doubled, increasing the company's scale, technical expertise, and field capacity.
