Community Hospital Corporation Selects 2025 Dan Wilford Award Winner: Rachel Williams, RN, Carolinas ContinueCARE Hospital

PLANO, Texas, July 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) has announced Rachel Williams, RN, Clinical Liaison at Carolinas ContinueCARE Hospital, as the 2025 winner of the Dan Wilford Award for Compassion and Community Service. She has served in this role for 14 years. Carolinas ContinueCARE Hospital is a long-term acute care hospital owned by CHC.

"Rachel's level of commitment to community service and the hospital has been truly outstanding," said Jim Kendrick, CHC president and CEO. She was named national winner among 10 nominees. The award, named after Dan Wilford, a founding CHC board member and retired CEO of Memorial Hermann Healthcare System of Houston, Texas, represents outstanding care and remarkable concern for a community and its local hospital.

Williams will be recognized during a hospital reception scheduled August 7, 2025 at the facility: 10648 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. She will be presented with a gift and framed certificate of appreciation by CHC President and CEO Jim Kendrick.

Williams was nominated by Derek Murzyn, Market CEO of Carolinas ContinueCARE Hospital, for her extensive community service. Since age 15, Rachel has volunteered as a counselor and special friend at Camp Joy (campjoy.net), a camp for individuals with special needs aged 13 to 60+. When she became a nurse in 2016, her role expanded to Camp Nurse, providing medical care, managing conditions like diabetes, and addressing first aid needs, while also participating in all camp activities. Rachel, often joined by her mom and daughter, Vera, is deeply committed to serving the campers in a place of love and acceptance, reflecting her profound compassion.
