Company Announces Expansion in Specialized Training for Nurse Consulting & Expert Witness
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C., March 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- FIG Services, Inc., announced significant expansion today. FIG specializes in nursing education and consultancy. This growth includes an e-commerce enabled website (www.figservices.com), and an expanded online nursing curriculum to include Nurse Life Care Planning.
The privately held corporation provides an array of services with a focus on assessing individuals with a catastrophic injury/illness and projecting future medical and non-medical needs including all associated costs. Shelene Giles, President, says the company's growth has come naturally. "When I began my nursing career, I saw the need for training not only in the cold, medical science of our profession, but also in the very personal side of nursing care. Our company understands that our nurse-students have lives, families and personal goals and we take those into consideration in the flexible way we offer courses. We also strive to pass along the personal element that is so vital to healing." The company's new marketing line is: The knowledge of human healing.
Mrs. Giles states that, "Nurses typically choose Nurse Life Care Planning as a career enhancement and earn an average of $150/hour. Studies show many Nurse Life Care Planners will retire within the next 5-10 years, which leaves the door wide open for opportunities."
In 2008, FIG began offering Medicare Set-Aside courses for certification and continuing education. This specialized training is essential in cases where catastrophic injury or illness require long-term care that could be paid in part by Medicare. In this 2011 expansion of services, FIG has added Nurse Life Care Planning courses to the curriculum.
This educational course has been approved by the North Carolina Nurses Association and prepares nurses in the field of life care planning.
FIG training focuses on critical thinking skills, current resources/references, today's technology in the learning environment, a hands-on approach for enhanced retention, professional yet relaxed atmosphere, and ongoing mentorship to promote confidence. "Our goal is to equip nurses with real knowledge that results in a positive, healthy benefit for their clients and career," stated Mrs. Giles.
