CHICAGO, July 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- To help runners increase their speed, improve endurance and stay injury-free, Accelerated Physical Therapy running specialists are now teaching the Pose Method, a program that shows runners how to more actively use gravity in order to become more efficient.
The principles of the Pose Method will be explained at a complimentary* "Love to Run™" clinic on Monday, August 4, 7:30 pm, Accelerated Physical Therapy, 1640 N. Wells Street, Chicago. The event will feature a demonstration of the Pose Method, raffle prizes, and food and beverages. Convenient parking is located nearby. To sign up, email [email protected] or call 312-523-4064. Seating is limited. This event is sponsored by Accelerated Physical Therapy, Fleet Feet and Sproing Fitness.
This running technique teaches the runner how to use gravity to their advantage, fall forward and use less muscular energy by pulling with their legs. This combination ultimately helps the runner to take more efficient strides. Accelerated running specialists are among a few in the Chicago area certified to teach this technique.
Developed by a two-time Olympic running coach, the Pose Method uses key body poses and body weight. It consists of three elements: Pose – Fall – Pull, and it uses gravity as the primary force for forward movement instead of muscular energy.
Many world-class athletes, including several worldwide Ironman winners, are using the Pose Method and performing better.
The Pose Method is typically taught in an Accelerated center using video analysis and sometimes Sproing®, but can also be taught outdoors. It is applicable for large teams or one-on-one training.
