Comprehensive Care Corporation CEO Clark A. Marcus Presented With Challenge Coin for Support and Services to U.S. Troops and Veterans
TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Comprehensive Care Corporation (OTC BB: CHCR), which provides behavioral health, substance abuse and psychotropic pharmacy management services for managed care companies throughout the U.S., today announced that Clark A. Marcus, Chairman and CEO, has been presented with a Challenge Coin from 1974 Medal of Honor recipient Sergeant Major Jon R. Cavaiani for the work Mr. Marcus, and the companies Mr. Marcus has headed, have accomplished to support our U.S. Troops and Veterans.
"I humbly accepted The Challenge Coin on behalf of CompCare and continue to pledge my support for organizations that will better the situation for the hundreds of thousands of our troops and veterans, both in the current war and from wars past. Our troops and veterans deserve all the respect and assistance we can provide and they certainly have our never-ending admiration," Mr. Marcus said. Mr. Marcus' son, David, is a recent graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point, and is now stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia.
"CompCare has sent thousands of gift packages overseas to support our troops every Christmas for the last several years. In addition, because of our expertise in behavioral health, we are acutely aware of the psychological problems that some veterans may encounter when they return to the U.S., and we are actively working towards providing the support that is needed by those veterans who might not otherwise have the access or the means to be properly assisted. This is not only a personal commitment, it is an important corporate objective and commitment for CompCare which we hope others will embrace," Mr. Marcus explained.
Sergeant Major Jon R. Cavaiani was captured by the North Vietnamese Army in 1971 and held as prisoner for 661 days. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for twice holding off an assaulting enemy force as his platoon was evacuated by helicopter and by escaping while S/Sgt. Cavaiani fired a machinegun at the advancing forces. "His conspicuous gallantry, extraordinary heroism and intrepidity at the risk of his own life is an example of the highest traditions of military service and we are honored that Sergeant Major Cavaiani presented the Challenge Coin to me and to CompCare," Mr. Marcus said.
Sergeant Major Jon R. Cavaiani stated, "I am honored to present my Challenge Coin to Mr. Clark A. Marcus and CompCare Corporation for all they do for our young men and women in "Harm's Way." I make every effort to say thank you to every serviceman and woman I see. I have spent the last 28 years helping take care of the young children of our service members killed in the line of duty, ensuring they get scholarships for their education. Those charities that do the best job are the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation (MCLEF) and the various Special Operations Charities, such as One Voice and Fallen Warriors. The money goes where it needs to go – the children. Please remember the physically and mentally wounded warriors.
A nation that forgets its fallen will not long endure.
Thank you to CompCare and the CompCare family, and your continued generosity."
Mr. Marcus became CEO of CompCare in 2009 and has more than 35 years experience in building both public and private businesses. With 20 years of experience in healthcare, Mr. Marcus was a co-founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board of The Amacore Group, Inc., a premier healthcare distribution company. He also founded and initially funded Dimensional Vision Group Limited (DVG) and Fountain Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Mr. Marcus was also a senior partner of the New York law firms Victor & Marcus and Marcus & Marcus.
