Comprehensive Care Corporation Wins Highest Rating, Three-Year Full Accreditation, From Quality Assurance Organization
TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Comprehensive Care Corporation (OTC BB: CHCR) , which provides behavioral health, substance abuse and psychotropic pharmacy management services for managed care companies throughout the U.S., is proud to announce that its subsidiary, Comprehensive Behavioral Care, Inc., has earned a three-year Full Accreditation by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
NCQA Accreditation for a Managed Behavioral Health Organization (MBHO) is a nationally recognized tool that is used by purchasers, regulators and consumers to evaluate an MBHO. NCQA evaluated how well CompCare's health plan manages all parts of its delivery system in order to continuously improve health care for its members. According to NCQA MBHO guidelines, a three-year Full Accreditation, the highest rating that can be achieved, is granted only to those plans that meet NCQA's rigorous standards for quality. This is the 12th consecutive year that CompCare has been accorded Full Accreditation from NCQA.
"I am enormously proud of this Accreditation on behalf of the entire CompCare team. This accreditation is recognition of the commitment, hard work and dedication of all CompCare employees and is important positive news for our clients and the members we serve. It is also important that our investors and potential investors realize how important it is for our future success in that the accounts that we solicit almost always seek out only MBHOs with this level of NCQA Accreditation. It gives them the comfort level they need and deserve with respect to how their members will be cared for, how unnecessary costs will be avoided and how their State will view their MBHO operation. In many areas where we either have or solicit business, we may well be the only MBHO to have achieved this prestigious distinction. This Accreditation thus bodes very well for our ability to keep increasing our business with quality HMOs and self-insured businesses," said Mr. Clark A. Marcus, CompCare Chairman and CEO.
"CompCare's MBHO Accreditation is proof that it's an organization which works hard to coordinate care, provide access and good customer support for members," said Margaret E. O'Kane, NCQA President, "It's a sign that CompCare is focused on improving the behavioral health of its members."
