Con-way Manufacturing Receives 2014 Plant Safety Award from Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association

ANN ARBOR, Mich. and SEARCY, Ark., May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Con-way Manufacturing, the trailer manufacturing and refurbishing subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced that it has been honored with the 2014 Plant Safety Award from the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA).

The company also was a recipient of the award in 2004 and in 2010 through 2013, making this the fifth straight year, and sixth time overall that Con-way Manufacturing has been accorded this honor from TTMA. The company was recognized for the achievement at the TTMA's 73rd Annual Convention in Cambridge, Maryland on April 30.

Under the TTMA Plant Safety program, award winners are selected from member companies' yearlong occupational injury data, recorded in accordance with the Occupational Safety & Health Administration's (OSHA) requirements. Con-way Manufacturing won in the "C" category of the award, segmented for plants sized 350,000 man-hours and under.

Con-way Manufacturing attributes much of its success to its emphasis on behavior-based safety strategies, which are designed to deeply engage employees in effective safety practice. This year marks the 44th presentation of the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association Plant Safety Awards.
