LIVERMORE, Calif., July 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PS I Love You is honored to have Concannon Vineyard continuing its support for the annual Petite Sirah Symposium. Concannon, home of America's First Petite Sirah®, is a natural location for the continuing growth of this historic variety. This year's symposium will offer a variety of exciting insight from expert speakers and advocates of Petite Sirah, including Tegan Passalacqua of Turley Wine Cellars, Mike Drash of Aratas Wines, Aaron Jackson of Aaron Jackson Wines, and Michael Houlihan and Bonnie Harvey, Barefoot Cellars Founders. Symposium host, John Concannon, 4th Generation Vintner, will also take a lead role as the forum's moderator, giving open remarks and discussing his family's legacy and continued success with the varietal.

  • WHAT: 11th Annual Petite Sirah Symposium, hosted by Concannon Vineyard
  • WHEN: Tuesday, July 23, 2013, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • WHERE: Concannon Vineyard, 4596 Tesla Road, Livermore, CA 94550

Steve Heimoff, of Wine Enthusiast Magazine, will be this year's keynote speaker and is truly a champion for Petite Sirah. "Steve Heimoff is a natural leader with this varietal," states John Concannon. "As one of America's most influential wine critics and proponents of Petite Sirah, I am thrilled he will be keynoting this Symposium and we are all very excited to have his vision and expertise to lead this year's discussions."

If anyone can guide the Petite Sirah marketing debate, it's Michael Houlihan and Bonnie Harvey, founders of Barefoot Cellars. When their book The Barefoot Spirit was released, it shot to Amazon's bestsellers list in its first week of publication. "The dynamic duo of Houlihan and Harvey broke the rules for marketing with Barefoot, which is today's #1 selling brand. As Petite Sirah continues to expand awareness about this variety," states John Concannon, "their message is going to be critical for Petite Sirah. Their suggestions have the potential to jump start Petite Sirah, in terms of visibility in ways we can't even begin to imagine."
