Concurrent Technologies Corporation Engineer Earns Prestigious Welding Science and Technology Honor

JOHNSTOWN, Pa., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Paul J. Konkol, Fellow Engineer at Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC), has been named a Fellow of the American Welding Society for his distinguished contributions to the field of welding science and technology.  Konkol, one of only two Fellows selected for induction to the Society in 2010, is an expert in the fields of physical metallurgy and welding, especially those of high strength structural steels.  He is a technical lead for CTC's advanced combatant materials project, supports multiple projects for the CTC-operated Navy Metalworking Center, and serves on the National Ship Research Program Welding Technology Panel.

According to the American Welding Society, Konkol's formal induction into the 2010 Class of Fellows will take place November 1 during their annual business meeting in Atlanta, Georgia.  

Konkol has been with CTC since 1994.  He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in metallurgical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
