Conexon welcomes veteran telecom and broadband sales leader Abby Carere as Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Carere offers breadth of experience and expertise to foster company's electric co-op clients' success in broadband business deployment and effective sales and marketing strategies
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Feb. 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Conexon, a company committed to partnering with electric membership cooperatives to bring fiber to the home in rural communities, today announced the addition of veteran telecom and broadband sales leader Abby Carere to its senior team. Carere serves as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Carere offers Conexon clients a breadth of knowledge and expertise related to selling and deploying communications technologies including residential, commercial VoIP, broadband services, as well as back-office support and provisioning. She began her career in direct business-to-business telecom sales in one of the nation's most competitive telecommunications markets before stepping into leadership and overseeing a direct sales team. With a company of more than 1,000 representatives, she finished in the top 3 percent of the company in sales every year. Carere has spent the last four years working with electric cooperatives to deploy broadband in their markets, helping them implement residential and commercial VoIP services and back-office support solutions. She is widely recognized for her industry knowledge, strategic alliance expertise and being a top sales performer.
In her new role, Carere will lead Conexon's client acquisition strategy, and also serve as a resource to the company's electric co-op clients. Conexon supports co-ops in every aspect of a fiber business – from feasibility planning to securing funding to designing networks, managing construction, operations, and beyond. Carere will support clients in building the sales, marketing and brand infrastructure necessary to be successful as broadband providers in their markets.
Conexon has worked with more than 80 electric co-ops that have entered the broadband market. The company represented the Rural Electric Cooperative Consortium (RECC), the single largest Gigabit winning bidder in the FCC's recent CAF Phase II auction. This consortium of member-owned co-ops will be awarded $186 million over a 10-year period to build fiber-to-the-home networks capable of gigabit speeds to more than 66,000 locations across rural America from Virginia to Oregon.
