AGL Resources Inc. Analyst Notes 

On April 3, 2014, Virginia Natural Gas (VNG), a subsidiary of AGL Resources (AGL), announced that Governor Terry McAuliffe signed a law that allows the state's natural gas utilities to acquire long-term supply contracts and infrastructure for natural gas, which is expected to benefit VNG's customers. According to VNG, this will facilitate low-cost shale and coalbed methane gas delivery to Virginia homeowners and businesses. VNG said that it could acquire up to 25% of its annual demand for natural gas through long-term contracts or other investments under this law. In addition, VNG informed that over the coming months, it will be identifying projects that qualify under the new legislation and aim to provide meaningful and long-lived benefits for its customers. OGE Energy Corp. Analyst Notes 

On April 1, 2014, Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company (OG&E), a subsidiary of OGE Energy Corp. (OGE Energy), announced its recent five-year agreement with the Oklahoma City Thunder, making it the first NBA team to commit to offset 100% of its electricity consumption with renewable wind power. According to OG&E, the agreement provides the Thunder, as well as the team's corporate offices, practice facility and community events center, with renewable energy credits in its home arena on game day. OG&E said that it has been partners with the Thunder since the team's first season in Oklahoma City. In honor of the NBA Green Week, OG&E Vice President Jesse Langston presented Thunder with its Positive Energy Partnership Award during its game versus the San Antonio Spurs game on April 3. Langston expressed his excitement, "It seemed to be a natural collaboration with the club to help them contribute to the objectives of the NBA with a green power relationship.
