WASHINGTON, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Congressional Federal Credit Union today announced it is increasing the rate on its 1-year Flexible Saver Share Certificate to 6.00% Annual Percentage Yield (APY), effective August 3, 2026, reinforcing the credit union's commitment to helping more people take the first step toward building lasting financial confidence regardless of where they are starting.

Unlike traditional certificates that often require large opening deposits and lock savers into a fixed balance, Congressional's Flexible Saver Share Certificate was intentionally designed to lower the barriers to saving. Consumers can open the savings certificate with as little as $100 and continue adding funds throughout the 12-month term, up to a maximum balance of $1,000.
