Congresswoman Suzan DelBene visited the Sonata Software Development Facility in Redmond, Washington today while on a visit to her constituency. Sonata is a global IT software services provider and opened its development center earlier this year as part of its strategy to serve its clients in the Americas better.

Congresswoman DelBene represents Washington's 1^st Congressional District and is also a seasoned technology entrepreneur and leader with over 20 years of experience working in the private sector with companies like Microsoft, where she served as corporate vice president of the company's mobile communications business. Sonata's facility in Redmond currently has close to 100+ employees and looks to hire more talent in the future. In a bid to increase quality career opportunities and source talent locally, Sonata initiated the LEAD Program for recent graduates with over twelve of the team being on-boarded through this route in just over half a year, from the University of Washington and Washington State University. LEAD is a comprehensively designed approach that balances the needs of graduates and the dynamic opportunities in the IT industry. The program combines an Earn-as-you-Learn paid training phase in emerging new technology areas, with subsequent opportunities to work on projects with marquee clients.
