Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, Pastor Frederick Haynes III, Senator Royce West, and Other Dallas Leaders Encourage Men to Attend PHEN's FREE Prostate Cancer Community Rally and Screening Event on March 1st at Cedar Crest Church of Christ
QUINCY, Mass., Feb. 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Prostate Health Education Network (PHEN), a nonprofit organization with a mission to eliminate the African American prostate cancer disparity, is holding its Prostate Cancer Community Rally in Dallas, Texas, at Cedar Crest Church of Christ (2134 Cedar Crest Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75203), on Saturday, March 1st, from 9 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public and includes lunch, as well as a free prostate cancer screening PSA blood test for men.

As part of the Rally's radio and social media promotion, Dallas leaders have taken to the airwaves to encourage men to understand the importance of screening for prostate cancer. Radio ads will be aired throughout February on KRNB K104 FM, KZMJ Majik 94.5, and KGGR 1040AM/106.9 FM.
"If you or someone you love is a man over 40, now is the time to get screened for prostate cancer," said Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett in her awareness message. "Black men are 60% more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer than White men and twice as likely to die after diagnosis, but early detection saves lives. Getting diagnosed early saved my dad's life, and it can save yours, too."
"Prostate cancer is a crisis – it's wreaking havoc [and] breaking hearts in far too many African American homes," stated Rev. Frederick Haynes III in an awareness message. "Our community is suffering, but it doesn't have to be that way. Please recognize early detection for prostate cancer is a matter of life or death."
