Connect to the Spirit of Tahoe Through Authentic Adventures With The Cedar House
TRUCKEE, Calif., Aug. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Guided hikes provide insights that connect travelers to the local environment and community in a way that an unaccompanied walk does not. The Cedar House Sport Hotel's Tahoe Trips and Trails will host an interactive talk by the Tahoe Rim Trail Association and offer a variety of guided adventures.
Today The Cedar House and Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) announce the beginning of what is expected to be a long time partnership. TRTA constructs and maintains the Tahoe Rim Trail, a 165-mile trail for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. The Cedar House is the first to join TRTA's Trailside Inn program.
"As an active lifestyle hotel with an environmental consciousness, our mission is to inspire authentic and meaningful connections to the natural world. One way we do this is by sharing unparalleled expertise through guided hiking trips in our own backyard and throughout the western United States," explains Patty Baird, owner of The Cedar House Sport Hotel. "We also partner with community organizations that have made significant contributions to environmental stewardship and support recreational opportunities that resonate with our values and lifestyle."
To kick off the partnership, The Cedar House is hosting complimentary refreshments and a virtual hike on the Tahoe Rim Trail presented by TRTA staff members at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
"I'm excited about our new partnership with The Cedar House - it is a great way to share our commitment to getting folks out on the trail to enjoy this beautiful region," shares Mary Bennington, TRTA executive director.
TAHOE TRIPS & TRAILS
"The Cedar House is for those who seek a deeper connection and extraordinary experience in nature, in dining and lodging," explains Baird. Every season offers an active guided adventure with Tahoe Trips and Trails. Upcoming highlights include the four-day Active Gourmand Tahoe from Sept. 2 to 6 and Lake Tahoe Photography & Hiking with internationally recognized fine art photographer Niobe Burden from Sept. 27 to 30. In addition to multi day trips, custom day hikes are offered for hotel guests seeking a deeper connection to the region.
