Consumer and Children's Champion to Speak at the Womenetics POW! Awards

ATLANTA, March 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 17, Inez Tenenbaum, Chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), will deliver the keynote address and illustrate what it means to be an impactful woman at the Womenetics POW! Awards. Womenetics and Porsche Cars North America present this annual event to honor and uphold purposeful women whose leadership in both their businesses and community have positively impacted Atlanta and beyond. The POW! Awards will be held at the Georgia Aquarium from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Tenenbaum was nominated in 2009 by President Obama to serve as the ninth Chairman of CPSC. Tenenbaum was sworn into office in 2009 to a term that expires in October 2013. Prior to her current role, Tenenbaum served as South Carolina's State Superintendent of Education, director of research for the Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs Committee of the South Carolina House of Representatives and practiced law.
