OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich., Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Consumers Energy Foundation has awarded $60,000 in grant funding to three Southeast Michigan organizations to strengthen their communities and connect residents with vital resources and services.
The Consumers Energy Foundation awarded the funding through its Community Impact Awards, supporting programs serving communities across Monroe, Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb and Oakland counties. This investment supports ongoing services and programs that strengthen communities and create access to vital resources.
"We are thrilled to stand alongside these organizations as they work to expand services throughout Michigan," said Catherine Wilson, secretary and treasurer of the Consumers Energy Foundation. "We build stronger communities through partnership and collaboration. Together, each of us can make a difference in the lives of those we serve and create brighter futures for generations to come."
Recipients include:
Monroe County:
- Erie Township, $20,000 to transform and improve accessibility in a community park
- Step Up Foundation, $20,000 to expand school-based food pantries across Monroe County
Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb and Oakland Counties:
- Building Beds 4 Kids, $20,000, to provide free beds to metro-Detroit children while giving young adults with developmental disabilities hands on job training
