Founded in 1968, the Special Olympics World Games are held every two years and alternate between Summer and Winter Games. The 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games will take place July 25 – August 2 at various locations throughout Los Angeles, including the cities of Encino and Long Beach, UCLA, USC, Griffith Park, and Downtown Los Angeles. The Opening Ceremony will be hosted at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, a CSC client since 1975. Featuring 25 Olympic-style sports, this event will welcome 7,000 athletes and 3,000 coaches representing 177 countries, as well as more than 500,000 spectators and 30,000 volunteers. The World Games will be the single largest event in Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games.
