Coordinated Health Continues Growth with Acquisition of Orthopedics Associates of Greater Lehigh Valley (OAGLV)

ALLENTOWN, Pa., April 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Coordinated Health (CH), one of the leading acute-care hospital networks in eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey, today expanded its regional footprint and deepened its expertise with the acquisition of Orthopedics Associates of the Greater Lehigh Valley (OAGLV). Founded in 1988, with offices in Nazareth, Pa., and Phillipsburg, N.J., OAGLV is one of the region's leading orthopedic groups. The physicians joining CH from OAGLV:

• Dr. Christopher Ferrante, Joint Replacements, is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with degrees in biology and economics. He received his medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Ferrante is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is trained in the latest surgical techniques for total joint replacements including minimally invasive techniques for both the hip and knee. 
• Dr. Robert Friedman, Sports Medicine, received his Bachelor of Science with high honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara and his medical degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. He completed his orthopedic residency at Duke University and a fellowship in sports medicine at the Southern California Center for Sports Medicine. Dr. Friedman is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He is a nationally recognized expert in knee and shoulder disorders and sports medicine and one of the only orthopedic surgeons in the country skilled in cartilage transplant techniques.
• Dr. Vito Loguidice, Spine, received his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Manhattan College and his medical degree from S.U.N.Y. Upstate Health Science Center in 1981. He performed both his internship and residency at the West Virginia University Hospital. In 1987, he completed his fellowship in spinal surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Dallas and the Texas Back Institute. Dr. Loguidice is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board Of Spine Surgery. He is an innovator in the field of spinal surgery, most recently in the area of Kyphoplasty procedures (a minimally invasive procedure for the treatment of vertebral compression fractures related to osteoporosis).

Effective immediately, patients currently seeing OAGLV providers at their current 3735 Easton-Nazareth Highway location in Easton will now be seen at CH's new state-of-the-art campus four miles away at 3100 Emrick Boulevard in Bethlehem Township.

Patients who are currently seeing OAGLV providers at their current Hillcrest Professional Plaza location at 755 Memorial Highway in Phillipsburg will remain there until CH's ultramodern 10-acre campus opens at 222 Red School Lane in Lopatcong Township, N.J., in August.
