Corero Migrates Leading Education Management Software Product from Magic (uniPaaS) to .NET with Firefly Migration

Firefly Migration, provider of automated conversions of Magic/uniPaaS-based applications to Microsoft .NET, announced the completion of a successful migration for Corero Business Systems, now a Civica Group company.

Corero's Education Management System (REMS) is in daily use at over 40 education establishments in the United Kingdom, covering key operations such as enrolment, course planning, timetabling and exam processing. Using Firefly Migration's 100% automated solution, Corero was able to release an enhanced, .NET-based version of REMS, to all of its customers, within an astonishing eight month period.  

After many years of development using the Magic platform, Corero looked for a modern platform to enhance system functionality, expand development capabilities and bring all of its products under a single development platform. Firefly Migration provided the best proof of concept for a platform upgrade, presenting a fully functional .NET-based version of REMS.

Corero's seamless migration to .NET required no development freeze, allowing Corero to provide continuous support to its customers while its team of Magic developers underwent Firefly Migration's specialized .NET training.
