CoreTrace Bouncer Enters Common Criteria Level 3+ Evaluation
Leading Platform Poised to Be First Application Whitelisting Solution Certified to Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) 3+
AUSTIN, Texas, May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CoreTrace®, the leading provider of application control and whitelisting solutions, announced today that its CoreTrace Bouncer is in evaluation under the Canadian Common Criteria Evaluation and Certification Scheme (CCS) to be certified to Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) 3+. Upon certification completion, CoreTrace Bouncer is expected to be the first application whitelisting solution to be certified to Common Criteria EAL 3+.
Common Criteria certifications are considered a prerequisite in many government procurements in the U.S. and abroad, and reflect extensive evaluations of the security features and capabilities of information technology and networking products in clearly specified, real-world operating environments. The certification process provides independent verification of the developer's security test results, and evaluates the developer's checks for vulnerabilities, the development environmental controls and the product's configuration management.

Developed by the governments of Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the U.S., and now accepted by more than 26 countries, the Common Criteria international standard (officially known as "The Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation") defines functional and security assurance requirements that are tested by independent laboratories. Bouncer is being certified by EWA Canada, which maintains a fully accredited Common Criteria Evaluation Facility (CCEF) that provides the full complement of capabilities for all facets of the Common Criteria process.
