Corner Bakery brings its Chicago roots to life with new cafe design in the Dallas area

DALLAS, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Corner Bakery Cafe has unveiled its first retro-inspired cafe design at its relocated West Plano location, pairing original pieces from its Chicago beginnings with a cost-efficient approach to development. The cafe was built for half the cost of a traditional Corner Bakery cafe.

The location offers existing and prospective franchisees a blueprint for opening or relocating a Corner Bakery Cafe with the brand's new design and a best-in-class initial investment designed to deliver an excellent return.

Original artwork and decor, including the iconic "T" sign from the first Chicago location, connect the space to Corner Bakery's history. Designed around how guests gather and work today, the cafe features longer tables, a bright dining area and more outlets for working lunches, informal meetings and catching up with friends. The Dallas Parkway site was chosen to serve commuters and nearby schools and businesses.

"West Plano shows what our teams can accomplish together," said Erin Hasselgren, president of Corner Bakery Cafe. "In today's environment, a new cafe has to make financial sense from the start. Building with a clear return on investment in mind puts us in a stronger position to pursue the right growth opportunities."

The kitchen layout incorporates input from employees at the previous cafe, who suggested changes to help them work more efficiently. The team also considered dine-in, pickup and third-party delivery needs when evaluating the cafe's space and equipment.

Purchasing equipment through SSCP's multibrand network helped secure competitive pricing. Careful selection of fixtures, furniture and materials reduced construction costs while maintaining quality.

The cafe is at 2100 Dallas Pkwy, #126, Plano, TX 75093. For more information, visit cornerbakerycafe.com.
