Cornerstone Strengthens Its Global Investment Management Team With Two Senior Hires

HARTFORD, Conn., Aug. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers LLC ("Cornerstone"), one of the largest global real estate investment managers with almost $50 billion in assets under management, today announced two senior appointments in the U.S. and Europe as part of the firm's continued build-out of its global platform. Joy Winterfield joins as Managing Director of Global Portfolio Management based in Chicago and will also form part of Cornerstone's global executive team.  Albert Yang joins as Managing Director and Head of Business Development – Europe based in London. Both hires are effective in September.

Ms. Winterfield brings to Cornerstone over 25 years of experience, more than half of which has been focused on the private equity and real estate investment industries. She joins the firm after eight years at Allstate Investments, LLC, serving most recently as Director of Global Private Equity Real Estate where she led strategy development and investment for the growth of a portfolio of private equity real estate funds. She also sat on the firm's Global Strategy Committee. Ms. Winterfield holds a B.S. in Industrial Administration from GMI Engineering & Management Institute and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Her current board memberships include the College of Illinois Investment Advisory Panel, the Chicago Chapter of Women in Real Estate (WIRE) and the Alternative Investments Forum (AIF) Insurance Investor Advisory Board.

Mr. Yang joins Cornerstone after four years at JP Morgan Asset Management, where he served as Executive Director of Global Real Assets (GRA) responsible for capital raising, investor relations and business development for institutional investors in the EMEA region investing in global real estate. During his more than 14-year career in European real estate asset management, Mr. Yang has also held positions at Henderson Global Investors, Schroder Property Investment Management and Deutsche Property Asset Management. Mr. Yang holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering & European Studies from the University of Warwick, UK. He is a board member of the Association for Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) and sits on the editorial board of Institutional Real Estate, Inc. (IREI).
