Corporate Investigations Industry Leader, Former Kroll Inc. Executive Robert Brenner, Joins K2 Intelligence as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer

NEW YORK, Sept. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- K2 Intelligence, an industry-leading investigative and risk analytics services firm, announced today that Robert Brenner has joined the firm as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer.  Mr. Brenner joins from Kroll Inc. where he most recently served as Senior Managing Director and Practice Leader of the firm's Investigations and Disputes Group in North America. 

Mr. Brenner brings more than 20 years of experience leading complex investigations and advising major corporations in high-stakes challenges such as regulatory matters, shareholder activism and anti-takeover defense. He is currently leading a team of "independent consultants" hired by a major international bank to review and oversee OFAC sanctions processes as part of a settlement of an action brought by the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS).

A former State and Federal prosecutor and First Deputy Commissioner in New York City, Mr. Brenner is an experienced trial attorney and investigator. He supervised investigations into fraud, waste, corruption and mismanagement in New York City agencies for the Special Commissioner of Investigations. Prior to that, Mr. Brenner served as senior investigative attorney and trial counsel in the New York County District Attorney's office, and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, prosecuting organized crime and political corruption matters.

Mr. Brenner graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received his law degree from Washington College of Law, American University.  He is admitted to the Bar in New York State and the District of Columbia.
