Corporate Team Building Combines Fun With Philanthropy; Teams Create Sculptures With Canned Goods and Donate Cans to Area Food Banks
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- A new Corporate Team Building event is being offered that gives employees an opportunity to explore the creative, artistic sides of their brains while also providing meals to thousands of California residents.
With current cutbacks, most companies have a real need to raise morale, and they also want to do community outreach, but they may not have the time or budget for both, according to Warren Press, VP Sales and Marketing, Feet First Eventertainment. See www.FeetFirstEvents.com.
"The 'Michael-Can-Gelo' event offers a way to address both needs," says Press. "It's a win-win-win situation. Employees get to have some fun together, their company gives back to the community, and thousands of people have been fed as a result."
The event is designed for groups ranging in size from ten to 500 people. Employees are put in teams. Each team is given a photograph of an internationally famous statue, building or landmark. They are then given canned items that they must use to build a smaller replica of the landmark. Teams vote on the Best Sculpture, and the cans are then all donated to an area food bank.
"With so many people in LA County in need of food assistance, the Michael-Can-Gelo team building event has been a huge help for the Foodbank," says Julie Flynn, Communications Specialist, LA Regional Food Bank. "The cans from one event alone provided enough food for approximately 4,000 meals for families, children, and senior citizens struggling with hunger. It has certainly made an impact on the lives of many in the Los Angeles community."
Feet First Eventertainment, with offices in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, CA, has expertise in non-traditional teambuilding events, including Customized Game Shows, "Corporate Adventures", and excursions designed to unleash participants' creativity.
"This allows employees to get to know one another better and make the work day that much more enjoyable," says Press. Feet First's partial client list includes AFLAC, Amgen, Altria, Baxter Bioscience, Broadcom, Davita, Exxon Mobil, Google, Guess, Intuit, KPMG, Mars Foods, Microsoft, Nestle, USC, Wilson Sporting Goods.
