The Company's Latest Version of Bria iPhone Edition Now Supports Localization for Japanese and both Traditional and Simplified Chinese Languages

VANCOUVER, March 10 /PRNewswire/ - CounterPath Corporation (TSX-V: CCV; OTCBB: CPAH) announced today that the latest version of Bria iPhone Edition, the highly secure, standards-based VoIP softphone that works over both 3G and Wi-Fi networks, now supports language localization for the Japanese and Chinese markets. This latest capability has CounterPath poised to address the burgeoning Mobile Market within Asia, leveraging the industry's "go-to" mobile SIP softphone.

Bria iPhone Edition v1.2.8 is CounterPath's latest software update for its iPhone market. While the latest release also features support for call recording (integrated with iTunes File Sharing), amongst other minor updates, the most significant addition to the client's feature suite is support for localization. CounterPath's product and engineering teams have made significant efforts to deliver localization earlier than anticipated to its Bria iPhone users due to market demand.

With over 870 million mobile subscribers in China and Japan, the market opportunity for CounterPath's mobile VoIP softphone is enormous. China Mobile as an example, which owns almost 600 million of China's 755 million and growing mobile subscribers, is about to launch a customized version of Apple's iPhone, which will support China Mobile's own version of LTE, known as TD-LTE. Having support for localization enables CounterPath to address the immediate demand for mobile softphones.

Further with the upcoming release of Bria iPhone Edition 2.0, which supports both video and mobile messaging, CounterPath will then be uniquely positioned to meet the growing demand for mobile video content and entertainment applications, which fall in line with mobile trends currently seen in the Asian markets.
