WHITING, Ind., Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As the nation honors those who have served our country this Veterans Day, a new partnership will offer a helping hand to those still active in uniform. CouponCabin.com, a leading online coupon site, is joining forces with SupportOurTroops.org's Troopons program – a service that collects and ships expired and active coupons to U.S. Armed Forces members and their families for use on military bases. Through this new partnership, CouponCabin.com will collect coupons from its users and cover the cost of sending them to overseas and U.S. bases through the Troopons program.

For U.S. Armed Forces members and their families who live on military bases overseas, expired coupons are fair game. In fact, U.S. Armed Forces members and their families are allowed to use expired coupons for up to six months past their expiration dates at their on-base stores. According to a recent survey conducted online by Harris Interactive on behalf of CouponCabin.com, many people are unfamiliar with this practice. In fact, the majority (91 percent) of U.S. adults said they didn't know that such a service existed. On the flip side, 64 percent said they would be fairly or very likely to donate expired coupons to a program that helps U.S. Armed Forces serving overseas.

• No more than 90 days expired or not yet expired.
• Manufacturer's coupons for individual products – examples include items like soup, pasta, or toothpaste.

Unfortunately, the following cannot be accepted:

• Coupons for individual stores – We can't use coupons for stores like Walgreens, Safeway, WalMart, etc…
• Coupons printed from the Internet
• Assistance vouchers
• Food stamps
• Restaurant coupons
