PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Covenant Security Services, Ltd., the nation's premier provider of comprehensive security services, is proud to announce another significant safety milestone that underscores its world-class program.
In 2016, Covenant attained a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of just 0.217, a number used by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) to assess an organization's ability to prevent workplace injuries.
Using statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor, Covenant's low incident rate is especially impressive when compared to the security industry average of 1.60.
Covenant's low incident rate illustrates a proactive approach towards keeping its employees and clients safe, particularly in refineries, manufacturing plants, and petrochemical environments.
"Safety is and has always been Covenant's number one corporate value," said Gregory M. Iannuzzi, Covenant's President. "All of our people understand how critical safety is to our success because it is such a huge part of the Covenant culture. I want to thank all of our officers, supervisors, and managers for this accomplishment, because it would not be possible without their proactive participation."
Covenant has worked extensively to develop a sophisticated safety management program to work in conjunction with client site-level initiatives. With an emphasis on routine training and injury prevention, Covenant emphasizes collecting, tracking, and analyzing critical safety information including near-miss incidents, first aid cases, case management, job task and hazard analysis, incident reporting methods, communications protocol, and daily work activity and proper equipment usage.
Covenant is an active member of various safety councils and consortiums including ISNetworld, which grades contractors based on client safety requirements. Covenant is proud to say that it has achieved all A-level grades from its clients.
Covenant knows that accidents can be prevented and that injuries can be eliminated and strives to achieve this through continuous emphasis and active participation by Covenant managers, supervisors, and officers, and through heightened awareness in every employee.
