CPI Adds New Features, Improves Design of its Two-Post Standard Rack

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Chatsworth Products (CPI) has enhanced its popular Two-Post Standard Rack, otherwise known as "THE Rack" or "55053," the product customers ask for by number.

The industry-leading Standard Rack is a high quality, cost-effective storage solution for patch panels and network switches. The rack features a small footprint, making it the best choice in many telecommunications and equipment rooms where floor space is limited.

Made from aluminum extrusion, the Standard Rack features unmatched sturdiness and durability. A convenient element the rack's 19"EIA universal rail spacing with marked and numbered U spaces. It is available in three heights: 7 feet, 8 feet and 9 feet. The heavy-duty rack is UL Listed with up to 1,000 lb. weight capacity.

The new features added to CPI's Standard Rack include:

• Grounding and Bonding with integrated ground studs
• Rack Ground Jumper Kit (ordered separately)
• 52U height on 8'H racks
• Glacier White finish

Now with 52 rack units and bonded assembly, the Standard Rack has a prepared grounding location added to one side of the rack channel. The Rack Ground Jumper Kit (ordered separately) allows for quick and easy attachment to the Telecommunications Grounding System, thus reducing installation labor.

Michael Moore, CPI's Product Manager of Open Architecture, stated, "CPI's new integrated grounding features included with the Standard Rack insure proper grounding and bonding, as well as reduction in labor time. This new design does not use any RMU space in the rack footprint, which in return saves money and allows full utilization for equipment."

It is now available in Glacier White, which is a new standard CPI color. Glacier White finish is highly reflective and helps brighten narrow equipment rows, provide better visibility and reduce energy costs.
