CPLANE NETWORKS Joins Ubuntu OpenStack Interoperability Lab to Accelerate Cloud Deployments
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CPLANE NETWORKS Corp., the leader in high-performance Software-Defined Networking (SDN), today announced participation in Canonical's Ubuntu OpenStack Interoperability Lab (OIL). OIL is an integration lab in which Canonical tests cloud partners' products in over 3,000 Ubuntu OpenStack configurations each month.
"Enterprises and service providers are rapidly moving to OpenStack private and hybrid clouds," said Brandon Williams, CEO of CPLANE NETWORKS. "As with any new technology or service, one of the challenges is making all of the pieces work together. The OpenStack Interoperability Lab helps to ensure that vendor products integrate and work together with Ubuntu OpenStack solutions. Removing the guesswork out of interoperability dramatically accelerates cloud deployments and reduces costs."
CPLANE NETWORKS' Dynamic Virtual Networks (DVN) is a software-only virtual networking solution that seamlessly integrates with the OpenStack framework. "We replace the standard OpenStack Neutron network service with our scalable SDN controller to create high performance, highly-available virtual networks," said John Casey, CTO and VP of Engineering. "Our focus is not only to deliver superior performance for OpenStack Networking, but make it very easy to deploy and use. We've invested heavily in packaging and automated deployment, and OIL gives us another level of interoperability testing and validation that ensures DVN will integrate and operate across a wide variety of Ubuntu configurations."
"We welcome CPLANE NETWORKS to OIL, which adds another popular SDN solution to the broad array of products tested in the labs. Today, there are so many options for building clouds, it becomes extremely difficult to ensure interoperability between all the components. OIL provides customer assurance of interoperability and compatibility with their preferred solutions in private OpenStack environments," commented John Zannos, VP of Canonical's Cloud Channels and Alliances team.
"The Ubuntu OpenStack ecosystem is rapidly growing and we're proud to be part of their success," said Williams. "Customers can deploy Ubuntu OpenStack with DVN and be assured that it will perform to their high standards of excellence."
