Crain's NY Names Convene as New York City's Fastest Growing Company

NEW YORK, Oct. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Crain's New York Business has recognized Convene (www.convene.com) as the fastest growing company in New York City.

The business publication's October 7, 2013 issue features its second annual listing of the Fast 50 (http://www.crainsnewyork.com/features/fast50). Companies selected for the Fast 50 had more than 100 percent revenue growth for three consecutive years and overall revenues greater than $10 million. The list includes both privately held companies, and for the first time, publicly-traded firms.

The article cites Convene's co-founders and principals, Christopher Kelly and Ryan Simonetti, as "… noticing a shortage of meeting space for one-day events in the city, they set out to fill the gap. They were on to something—and the firm saw sales skyrocket by 3,463 percent from 2009 to 2012."

Convene, the nation's fastest growing conference center network, currently operates three conference centers in Manhattan. In July 2013, the company announced two additional centers,101 Park Ave. near Grand Central, scheduled to open later this year; and Tysons Corner, Virginia, marking its first location outside of New York and the start of its national expansion.  The 1800 Tysons Boulevard center will serve the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region when it opens in early 2014.
