Cranial Technologies Opens New Plagiocephaly Center in Edison, N.J.

EDISON, N.J., April 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ – Parents seeking plagiocephaly treatment for their babies will have a new Cranial Technologies center to visit in Edison beginning April 7. This facility joins the Hackensack location to expand CranialTech's presence in New Jersey and is its 20^th U.S. clinic.

A recent study released in Pediatrics, the official journal of The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), found that 10 percent of babies seven to 12 weeks old showed signs of moderate to severe plagiocephaly (misshapen head).¹ This finding is consistent with data published in earlier studies.

The increase in plagiocephaly is linked to the AAP's Back to Sleep SIDS-prevention campaign. Torticollis (tight neck muscles), restricted womb space (especially in multiple births), and the use of baby convenience carriers also are contributing factors.
