Creative Agency 50,000feet and Chicago Design Museum Partner on Art Exhibition

CHICAGO, Nov. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In its annual tradition of bringing together Chicago's art, design, technology and business communities, creative agency 50,000feet announces the opening of a collaborative exhibition, titled Distortion Social. This year, 50,000feet tapped the Chicago Design Museum, of which it is a founding partner, to guest-curate the agency's 2015 Fall Open House. The exhibition explores the topographical nature of projected typography onto physical forms and will feature works from designers in ChiDM's permanent collection, including Chicago legends John Massey and Art Paul as well as contemporary practitioners Debbie Millman and Marian Bantjes.

Building on 50,000feet's partnership with the Chicago Design Museum, the exhibition captures the energy that defines Chicago's design community. Since opening in a permanent location at Block37 in Chicago's Loop, ChiDM has played a vital, educational role through its workshops and exhibitions highlighting multidisciplinary design thinking. "We are grateful to collaborate with 50k on the exhibition, which celebrates Chicago's design legacy and gives us the opportunity to explore and reinterpret typographic works from our collection—in both digital and analog ways," says Matthew Terdich, ChiDM Executive Creative Director.
